Bean Salad


Sometimes we are in non cooking mode. Yes we don't want to cook but still want to eat something interesting. These days can't order  from outside also for the fear of contamination. So what to do? Let us make a dish which perfectly fits in the scenario. It is nutrition combined with taste and is vegan too. Perfect combination of proteins and fibre . You are wondering what I am talking about. So no more guessing. The answer to all your queries is Bean Salad. The black eyed pea Or bean is rich in protein and combined with tomato and onions makes a wholesome salad. Perfect for weight watchers too. So let us start the recipe without wasting time. 

We Need:

  • 1 cup Black eyed Bean ( Lobia) 

  • 1 Big boiled potato chopped

  • 1 medium onion Chopped finely

  • 1 medium tomato Chopped finely

  • 1 green chilli chopped finely

  • 1 Tbsp Coriander Leaves 

  • Juice of One Lemon

  • ¼ Tsp of Red chilli powder

  • ¼ Tsp of Black powder

  • 1 Tsp of Roasted Cumin powder

  • ½ Tsp of Black Salt

  • 1Tsp chaat Masala

  • ½ Tsp of Salt. 

Here We Go


  1. Wash Black eyed Bean or lobia . Soak it in hot water for 1 hour. 

  2. After 1 hour put BEB (Black eyed Bean) in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water. Cook on high flame for 1 whistle. Switch off the flame. When the pressure is released drain the beans in a strainer. Let it cool. 

  3. When the beans are cooled, take a mixing bowl and add all the ingredients. Lightly toss everything with the help of two forks as to avoid mashing any of the ingredients. 

  4. Your Bean salad is ready. Serve it immediately. 


Total Preparation time : 20 min

Tip:

Mix all the ingredients just before serving otherwise the salad will become soggy.
